Edited by Alex Barry Introduction, by Nancy Jennings: In 1939, my great-grandmother Ilona and her husband Eddy Hoyos travelled to England, Wales and Ireland. The photos above were taken on that trip. Ilona’s wonderful holiday journal was discovered, edited and annotated by my first cousin Alex Barry.
My grandmother, Alicemargit Morris (1907-1979), wrote about her childhood memories, her parents Edgar and Ilona Hoyos, their extended family, and about meeting her husband Ryle Morris. She grew up in Austria and describes a magical childhood in which she was surrounded by loving family and nature. I have added notes and photos. Nancy Jennings

Eddy Hoyos (1875-1952), my great-grandfather, lived at Fiume, then in Austria-Hungary and now Rijeka, Croatia. The photo below shows him on the right, with his wife Ilona and son Georry at Hunstanton, UK, in July 1950. I am working on Eddy’s memoirs but they are not ready to share yet. Nancy Jennings
